The DVD has changed the way people watch films and store data. With films the picture quality is the first thing people comment on then this moves onto the sound, then the ease of use and ability to pause with a clear frame along with the ease of navigation through the disc. For those devotes the new found knowledge that extra scenes, directors comments or footage can now be included onto a single or spread over a number of disks.


DVDs at the moment are used primarily for Films, with audio titles are starting to become more common. DVD Players are available in a number of different products and are becoming smaller, cheaper and with more features.
Easily the most popular type of player as it can be left connected to the TV in addition or as a replacement to the VCR. Many players now include a hard drive which means you can rewind and pause live TV in the same way that TIVOs and the later Sky Plus Boxes have worked for years.
Many players are also including a Freeview decoder and the highly favoured DVD Writer so you can either record to the box or to a disk.
